Today, I saw something that reinforced my radical belief that smartphones should be banned.

This young lady was with her toddler waiting on the signal to cross the intersection. Instead of paying attention to her child, she was looking at her phone. The toddler literally stepped into the street while traffic was coming. I didn't see what happened afterwards. I kept driving (I could not have possibly had time to stop and do anything...) but was praying the child would be safe.

People crossing the street and not paying attention to cars......People in restaurants not talking to each other but looking at ...what ??? on their phones. Parents not talking to each other nor paying attention to their kids in Ikea.

Close relative of mine checking the phone to see if it was snowing lol...Just open the fukking door !

@revenant Absolutely! People dont realize thy are ruining the human social experience. Married couples not communicating with each other. Most men are too busy looking at half naked women on social media they are less attracted to their wives. It's not my place to judge anyone but I'm just saying... if people limited their time on smartphones, their lives would be much happier, families would build closer ties, marriages would improve.

Our parents used to get on to us about watching too much tv, playing video games too long or talking on the phone too long. Now even older people are on their phones too much. It isn't a good thing.

@Justice4All yes. The phone is a brainwashing technology. It is sad when i see older people who try to act like 20 year olds and are stuck in their phones all the time. Very passive aggressive activity
