Because I’m older, I look back on my time when I was an athlete, D1 college wrestler. I wish I was more driven, better trained, and knew what it meant to win. It’s not the record, or individual accolades or the team. It’s for your soul. Did you push yourself as hard as possible and succeed?
It’s a life lesson that I would’ve valued had I learned it earlier in my adulthood. Being driven is just the base of the mountain. Being mentally sated is the peak. That’s the real goal in life.
