Living the social life is exhausting

I consider myself an introvert and I'm trying to make a conscious effort to talk to more people. The other day, I'd say I made great progress and socialized a bit more (which is a big deal to me). But today, I'm just so tired and not in the mood to talk at all. Even smiling was so exhausting, I think I kept a resting poker face throughout the day when I did talk. I even forget to say hi back to people and instead just nodded silently. Eye contact was a bit hard too even though I had no problem with it the other day. I just felt like walking away from class and sit alone till the day ends.

Man, the human brain sure is weird.

That is typical.

It is kind of like going to the gym if one is not used to it.
It's like yeah supposedly it helps and you feel good at the moment but then the next day you are just xhausted and wonder "why bother".

I do not know why there is this push for socializing anyways. It is nothing but headaches.

@CestManan
That's a pretty interesting analogy on it, never thought about it that way.
Sadly I do need to practice socializing for the sake of my future career :,)

OMG same I forget to say hi. Then I have to wait for a second time I cross paths with them to say hi. It's so weird.

I'm resting in bed currently because my boyfriend has invited over a guest in an hour or so, I took extra strong coffee and might need some power drink to get through this. I'm an extrovert but I'm depressed.

I'm the same. If you're going to make that kind of effort then you need to plan for downtime as well. Maybe try being more social on Fridays?
