Would you marry someone so they can get a Green Card?

@akindheart I heard some will pay. It seemed really common at the university apartments where I lived.

@cherokeepatti i don't know if you remember Oceandock but she met her husband on a website i Singapore. He said if she married him and stayed with him for 5 years, he would make her legal. well she stayed with him for 13 yrs and he dumped her

@akindheart I don’t remember her. Some of those green card-marriage couple actually had children. Maybe the women tricked the men and got pregnant thinking it would seal the deal for life. I’d see an Arab man with a 300+ pound wife and wonder how many tried doing that. But there were some that would offer a sum of money right up front. The woman I know that did it said she never even lived with the man she had married. It was all business from the beginning to the end. I don’t know why the government doesn’t rescind those green cards if divorces are filed within a certain amount of time after the green card is issued.

@cherokeepatti tom Homan said that if they do that , they will still get evicted to their country. my son married a european girl IN EUROPE. why? we could not get her in the country legally. married or not.

@akindheart If they did that to everyone who married for a green card there would be a whole lot less living here. There were a lot in the 80s-90’s that I heard about.

@cherokeepatti my son was on disability SSDI. he called Soc sec to tell them he was moving to Europe. they were in disbelief he was so honest.
