I don't understand why people are afraid of death... It's like going to sleep and never having to wake up again... Sounds heavenly to me!

@drymer i think people think one moment u r here feeling being a human being expericing being in a body, and then next u don't feel it anymore, and that transition must be very painful and totally unknwn coupled with the fact u r leaving everything u knw forever,, unless u were absolutely suffering noone wants to forgo this..

@drymer Can sound heavenly only to those who don't feel happy and joyful when they are awake, or they are not looking for anything more to do in their life. Otherwise most people want to wake up after the sleep, if not to enjoy the life, they have many things they still want to do in live.

@drymer some fear the pain of death.
Its not always "like going to sleep".
For some its slowly suffocating from fluid on the lungs, for some its the slow pain of cancer, for others sepsis ....etc.
If death was a guaranteed painless thing, less would fear it.
