Upon meeting someone, what is your biggest fear?

Being about them or yourself.

For me, my biggest fear upon meeting people is that they'll think I'm weird without getting to know me. I know it's a pretty typical one. But I was curious about what other people thought.

the bad habit i have is that I really really like that person and i'm afraid they'll think I'm just "strange" or "annoying" and kind of "tolerate me" because they are too nice to tell me to "bug off"....trust me i had friends like that.

Those can be the worst kinds of people. :/ I've been there.

yea, that was almost my entire high school was people who tolerated me. Thing is I can't pinpoint or change how I am but i rather have someone be honest with me than pretending to be my friend.

Depends on the kind of meeting. Generally, I'm afraid I'll feel awkward and look like a loser because of my shyness and inability to start conversation.

But if it was someone I used to chat with on the Internet for a while and we both already shared personal stuff and developed positive feelings for each other, then my biggest fear would be that one of us or both would be disappointed or weirded out by something that we can perceive only in real life.

Do you have an overwhelming need to be thought of as funny?
SW-User
svanthor: Somewhat funny yeah. No one likes a non funny person.

@Headlines: Everyone is different, but I'm sure you don't have to have people laughing all the time for them to like you.

They like to yammer and I will be stuck listening to their endless dribble.

That they might see me the way I see myself.

I think you worded my fear a lot better than I did, this is exactly what I fear.

I'm scared they think I'm fat.
What a stupid fear.

I think general, nameless, broad anxiety is it for me- you know, it's kind of multi purpose, so it covers, do they think I'm weird, are they judging me in some other way, do they think I'm too quiet, do I talk too much, am I too friendly, not friendly enough, you name it!
