I think the overall theme of my life has been

Impermanence.

My whole life has been a constant stream of chaotic changes, most of which have been completely beyond my own doing or control. I realize now, that's why stability and security have been things I've longed for since forever.

I honestly don't think stability or security are in the cards for me. I have learned in my 42 years that getting attached to anyone or anything is just a bad idea, because it is inevitably going to leave or be taken away or lost eventually.
