Got a some more crap news yesterday

Felt like I needed to do something with this and wasn't sure what, so I will share it here.
Found out yesterday that a dear friend passed away Sunday.
He set the bar for me as how I saw my other friends.

Before I met Sam friends were just people you hung out with or helped move.
But Sam was different. He took interest in your life.
He always knew what was going on and was always ready to talk or help.
He had a real no nonsense approach to life and was always ready to share his experience dealing with whatever I was going through.
When Sam was in your corner it was 24/7.
He made your life better just by being in it.

The world is a little darker today missing his very bright light.

@Eddiesolds Thank you.
I guess I should be thankful for the time I did have with him but I can't help but feel this incredible hole where he used to be.
The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long.

@Eddiesolds I do have supportive friends in my life that all new and loved him.
But Sam was a kindred sprite.
We both kind of had the same wild streak at the same time.
It was a roller coaster ride but it all seemed to mean something.
Funny thing. He went to prison for three years and I got married and settled down and he got out and settled down.
So when we started meeting up again we were still the same.

@Eddiesolds Ha ha ha ha.
No he went to prison because he was wild as all get out.
He had an issue with drinking and then driving and played the system for many years.
The way the law was, for a long time at least, if you defended yourself on your drinking and driving case
when you got the next one they couldn't hold it against you because you weren't properly represented.
He would still go to jail but they couldn't accumulate his offenses.
So he was a first offense drunk driver 15 times until a judge decided that was enough playing the system.
Gave him three years in a minimum security prison up north.
It did do him a world of good.
He got out and stopped drinking and drugs and got involved with the church real heavy.
I don't think he got faith from it as much as an outlet to focus all his energy.
He started spending way more time with his family.
Raised two great boys and sent them to collage and both were involved pretty heavy with the church as well.
Built them both nice cars.
He was a major car guy.
He really turned things around.
As extreme as it may sound he was still a great guy back then he just drank a lot and had some drug issues.
Oh and thank you. I did smile. :-)
