The only problem you’ll ever have in life is in the way you think things should be. Therefore the only solution in life is in the way things are.

True. At some point, a person has to accept what is and make the best of reality, right? Some things can't or won't change.

Sometimes holding too tightly on to dreams of what you think things should be can make a person bitter or depressed instead of inspired or motivated. It can be easy to forget to live, or enjoy anything anymore.

@Scribbles Yes! That’s exactly right. This particular quote I tell myself almost everyday because I have a brain that likes to find problems in things. So it’s very important that I remind myself it’s my thinking which makes this issue and there’s nothing actually wrong with whatever I’m considering.

@Reject Your post is very similar to the Work of Byron Katie. She is a phenomenal author and one of her quotes is, " It is what we are THINKING AND BELIEVING that causes us to suffer." And another quote I love is "Reality is always kinder than the stories we tell about it. But only always."

@Coralmist I’m not familiar but I appreciate everything you’ve said about her! She sounds like someone I would agree a lot with. I always felt controversial when I would say this, but another quote I wrote, “Nothing is inherently negative. It’s you who sees it that way. If there is anything bad in this world, that is a reflection of the darkness within your own heart.” It seems to echo her statements, though mine is a bit harder for people to accept.
