When I say in real life, I mean in person or exists materially. The internet is not a real place as much as it is a clever tool to send information back and forth. What's on the internet can affect you in real life but itself it is not a real place and it just sends messages.

@Misanthropic so the internet isnt real because you can't physically get there?
Allow me to apply that logic to another scenario. Since humans can't physically travel to the deepest depths of the ocean, those depths arent real? They don't exist?

@RIPKAW Well actually people probably could travel to the deepest depths of the ocean given the technology they use is advanced enough, it is a physical place where as if the internet is not a place but rather electricity or radio signals travelling to devices.
I'm not saying the internet is not real however, but it's not a place, none of what happens on it is physically happening other than information travelling in a clever way.
A good example is if you face time someone and then ask to meet them in real life they reply with "what do you mean real life, we have met in real life" yeah sure you may have met them on facetime but that is very different to seeing someone in the flesh..

@Misanthropic people can't physically travel to the bottom of the ocean. The water pressure crushes anything we could build with the materials we have on earth.
How do you know it's a place? We assume it is, but don't have any tangible proof of that. With your logic, the internet isnt a place because people can't physically go there. Like I said, we can't physically go to the bottom of the ocean either, so like the internet, it's not a real place.
Furthermore, defining reality by what you can physically do is flawed. For example, you cannot physically interact with brainwaves, yet they exist and are very real. Reality consist of much more than physical experiences.

@RIPKAW Honestly I think you are being argumentative for the sake of it and twisting my words.. I'm not saying the internet isn't real but it is not a place and the bottom of the ocean is.
Now how you interpret or try to misinterpret what I say is up to you but it is very unproductive and with that said I'm ending the conversation.

@Misanthropic I'm just trying to have a deep intellectual conversation. With that said, if you must judge me and attack me directly that's on you. Your last comment seems like you are getting frustrated simply because I'm questioning what you think. I have only replied to your opinion. I have not said anything about you as a person. I will not reduce myself to that level.
I wish you the best my friend <3

@RIPKAW I'm not attacking you, I am merely pointing out that you are misinterpreting what I am saying and that I believe it to be deliberate. It doesn't feel like you are questioning what I think as much as it feels like you are changing the meaning/intent of my words. That said all the best to you.

@Misanthropic you are questioning my character and intentions. That is a direct attack. I understood where you were coming from, and I was challenging it. I value knowledge. Thinking outside the box. Learning. Questioning what is known to discover the unknown.
You say you aren't attacking me, and in the same sentence you attack me by telling me that I'm activity trying to do you wrong. Rather than trying to convince me to believe your opinion. It seems like there is a lot of insecurities there. I hope you can overcome those demons

@RIPKAW I'm done with the debate here as I said I think you are twisting my words which doesn't promote knowledge or healthy debate.. however I'll leave this final reply in response to you thinking I am attacking you because I am not.
Questioning your intentions and saying you are misinterpreting my words isn't an attack, it is what I believe you are doing so I am pointing it out as reason to stop engaging. A direct attack would be me calling you names, swearing at you, spreading lies about you, so many ways one can attack a person but I haven't done any of those to you. You can choose to see it as an attack but it isn't because that implies I intend to damage you which I have no interest in doing. Goodbye.
