I'm just a truck-stop waitress
knowing they watch my legs
I feel half undressed
as they order up their eggs

but they don't know
how much I know
when they pull out
on their miles

I am just as phony
as their word 'honey'
and as made up
as my smile

Why can’t a woman just smile? And let her smile be what it is? And no I’m NOT a waitress.

I was young and had to learn to be mean… because I was happy from the inside out… but others of the male persuasion thought it meant something ELSE!!!!! I was happy before I found out what men thought a SMILE meant. No wonder middle easter women have to wear a veil!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why can’t I just be happy and smile??????? Without a man thinking beyond that?

@Ryderbike I used to smile at everyone. Now I try not to smile at men. NOW I have to be sooo careful I can’t smile at all women either. I want the right to wear a veil without being called Muslim.
