Why can't some people see fault in themselves? Or why are they unable to admit it?

I'm not disincluding myself... But some people seem to be terribly unaware

It’s so frustrating with my mom. She doesn’t see all the terrible things she’s done to me. I keep having stupid nightmares about them. She sees nothing wrong. Like she was the perfect mom. Way far from it.
