The Beatles, live in Hamburg, 1962. When they were a rock&roll band.
monte3 · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard was that the first US tour? Their arrival marked a beginning and an end.
@monte3 Yes, I believe it was.
Vin53 · M
The Beatles have always been pop to me. The Stones are a rock & roll band.

@hunkalove

Glenn Miller
@samueltyler2 Was he around in your lifetime ?
@samueltyler2 You and my dad both. He had cases of the big bands stored in the garage.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Grateful4you i was too young to experience him live but he s music was always played. I play the trombone because how i enjoyed his sound
calicuz · 51-55, M
The Rolling Stones
monte3 · 70-79, M
@calicuz Jagger is an inspiration! And Keith looks less dead than he did 20 years ago, which is amazing.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@monte3 He must be pickled by all those "chemicals."
hunkalove · 61-69, M
@calicuz I saw them in 1966, when Brian Jones was still with them. They were very good. I always thought they were Mick Jagger's band but on stage Keith was definitely in charge. They performed for about half-an-hour.
The Doors, when they played in Winterland, SF.

Anything with Frank Zappa, Adrian Belew and Captain Beefheart.
Nimbus · M
@Crazywaterspring I've seen the first and last of your choices.
Legends of their time :)
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@Nimbus I think Belew is still alive. Captain Beefheart may still be around. Guys! Get screened for prostate cancer. Seriously. (Don't worry they can do it with a blood test.)
Nimbus · M
@Crazywaterspring I will check Belew out, thanks :)

Most of my fave artists still tour.
I guess Bowie in 73/74.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@Vin53 The 60s and 70s had the best music. Most of the stuff we're subjected to today is garbage. A synthesizer on a loop and mumbling are NOT music.
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@Crazywaterspring but there is a lot of great music about today, but you have to look for it. Most mainstream radio stations dont play it.....
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@RubySoo You're right. A lot of contemporary goddess and Pagan music is very good. It is almost underground and definitely not for any mainstream audience.
I don't know for sure if this image is real or photoshopped, but regardless, it captures the sentiment!

Vin53 · M
Not too shabby. I've seen six of those myself.

@ElwoodBlues
Band...? Ummm...the Beatles.

Orchestra...the NY Philharmonic under Leonard Bernstein.

Guy Lombardo.

Pink Floyd. Never got to see them live when I was younger.
A more modern group though would be Shinedown. Seem to be going through a phase of listening to them a lot.
Vin53 · M
Saw him two times. May've been twice at the Providence Civic Center or 1 and 1 Boston Garden.

twas a while ago
