In your opinion, am I right or wrong for thinking this way?

If I say something that is reasonably tame in how it is worded and without the intent to offend anyone, but strangers are indeed offended by what I said, I don't care 🤷🏽‍♂️. If we are in public and they aren't annoying or hostile about how they voice their offense I may say sorry but I won't mean it and it wont change my behavior in the future either.

Yeah there's a judgement call in these situations. Although it's important to like, consider the feelings of others we all also have to just put up with each other and some people get offended by normal speech and behaviour. Their problem at that point.

@CountScrofula right that's how I feel. If you're especially sensitive then the onus should be on you to take the necessary precautions to avoid the harming of your sensiblities; so long as they are exercising the basic level of restraint that is expected from sane and properly socialized individuals, it is impractical and unfair to expect others to try and think ahead about what may or may not offend someone before they express themselves
