So what's this I hear about Indonesia banning platforms like PayPal, Steam, Yahoo Search Engine, etc? 👀

I still need to look into things a little more, but this was like the first thing on my news feed when I woke up

And I'm all like, wait what?
The laws give the Indonesian government the ability to obtain data about specific users, as well as coerce companies into removing content that “disturbs public order” or is considered illegal.
That doesn't sound scary at all. 😨😵

@NerdyPotato Not at first, but "disturbing" is a very subjective term these days

I've had stuff removed from websites before for "breaking community guidelines" but no one was able to tell me which community guidelines I was breaking or how 🤦
@Fishy for the record, that was sarcastic. It sounds very scary. Especially with people getting on special agents' watch lists just for saying something socialist on Twitter. And that happened in the Netherlands. I have a feeling the limit is even lower in Indonesia and the consequences bigger.

@NerdyPotato Yeah I picked up on the sarcasm but only after I replied to your comment 😂
