My first girlfriend. We were 16 and laying in her bed cuddling and listening to music when suddenly she reached up and turned the radio off. I could sense the shift in her emotions and followed the river upstream, coming to the conclusion that the song that came on was one she shared with her old boyfriend. I looked her in the eyes and asked "that was your song with Jeff, wasn't it?" After she replied yes I knew our relationship was over, I told her "one day you will be listening to our song on the radio and you'll turn it off because it will cause you pain." That's when I accepted that worldly love wasn't for me.
