It has taken me a very long time to figure out why I keep logging in here.

It's certainly not to chat with anybody, nor to check on my friends. There are no chats, and no friends for me here. I have some "Followers", but I really don't understand what they are following, or why.
Finally came to the conclusion that I log in in the hope of getting a message from someone. Pretty dumb really because it never happens.
But at least I have sorted out my "why".

I come here to get messages from my friends. I still hope to get a message from I don't know who about who knows what. I haven't received that message yet. Occasionally I reach out to a stranger to give advice. And I enjoy reading here. You would be surprised at who drops by and chats with me. Some people I never hardly knew do this. And there is the connection that many of us want here too. I care not on the number of followers nor popularity nor selfies garbage.
