Would this be the right thing to do under these circumstances?

In the interests of full disclosure, let me say that the situation Im about to describe has NOT happened to me or anyone I know. Its simply a hypothetical designed to make you think. If a single guy-his age doesnt matter;lets say hes in his mid-30s-meets a woman hes really into. But he then learns shes a single parent with a child. While he really likes the woman,he does not have any great love for kids in general and doesnt want to get involved with her kid in any way.Under these circumstances, would the best thing for the guy to do is break up with the woman and end all conflict? Why or why not?

Honestly I would like an answer to this too. Because I've been in that situation plenty of times. Very rarely do I like the girls kids. Makes it hard to date since nearly everyone my age has kids

@JestAJester So,I take it that you are not generally into kids and that you look at a womans kids as "baggage"by your perspective(not hers)

@DavidT8899 No not really. I just don't particularly like kids. And its not fair to them. I understand a woman and her kids is a package deal. Only two women I've liked whos kids I also liked. Its just difficult for me thats all im saying

@JestAJester I understand.Look,I get that its not my place to tell you want to.do.I also undsrstand that you probably have a LOT more experience in these matters than I do.Still,it would seem to me that the right thing to do is break off the relationship. As Ive posted earlier,if you're dealing with a woman with a child, you will by definition be forced to get involved in the childs life sooner or later. If you are unwilling to do that, then the only real course of action is to end things.

@JestAJester And FYI:Im not really into kids either.I dont dislike them as people;I just don't have an affinity for them.
