i have experienced that too whenever i invest a lot of energy in prayer/meditation lol tbh i toned it down as im kinda scared of seeing something more than i can handle lol and I've never tried any drugs etc lol
if you look up non duality/esoteric texts or even in general religion it's basically the veil that has been lifted when you see those things

Interesting theory, solipsism. I do not subscribe to it's believes personally though.
And no i do not see static, but i sometimes see colours, bright rainbow like colours for no reason.

I’m not an expert on this at all, but I remember reading an article about something similar a while back. It talked about how the graininess/static has to do with the rods and cones in your eyes having a difficult time adjusting.

yup, i legit was just seeing that wondering about how many others see that.
but objectively my eyes are par less than good, so i never gave it much thought beyond my eyes are just doing their best....which is not good
