Care to guess what this tool/wrench is and what was its purpose?..Because I don't have a clue what it is.

I found it while walking along some railroad tracks.

By looking at the end of the tool, it appears to be a specialty tool for adjusting nuts and bolts for the railway 🚃
Azlotto · M
@nedkelly It very well could be.

Thanks for your reply.

Upon further contemplation of this while outside sitting on the curb smoking a joint, I realized that this tool you found could probably be used to make the water spray out of the fire hydrant that I was sitting beside, which makes me feel all the more envious of you, lol.

Cheers

@MougyWolf Lol, Thanks for your reply.
Iwillwait · M
@MougyWolf That must be some Curb you're sitting upon. 😆

Sounds like a beautiful walk.
Azlotto · M
@Eddiesolds It was..Thanks for your reply.
Looks like a valve handle , not a wrench.
It's long for leverage. The hole at the end is to lock it into position, the smaller hole probably had a pin on a chain attached to it.
Azlotto · M
@Onestarlitnight Makes sense. Do you think it was used on a steam engine?

Thanks for your reply.
@Azlotto
The square hole is the giveaway, most nuts have six sides but valve stems are square or round as a rule..
My guess would be that it controlled an air pressure line or hydrologics .. such valves would be common on trains of all types as well as the rail cars.
Azlotto · M
@Onestarlitnight Thanks again. 👍

Handle for switching rail sidings. It does look similar to a fire hydrant wrench.
Azlotto · M

...then it is something that broke off a train???? If you don’t know then how will you figure the right answer? I can just say it looks like a flying saucer handle that fell off from the Moon yesterday 🤔🤔
@InHeaven But if it fell from the moon yesterday it wouldn't be here yet.☺️
InHeaven · F
Oohh that’s right@UnderLockDown it actually fell from the Moon last month. Sorry lol They were fixing their flying saucer and dropped it then Azlotto picked it up lol
