My 600 pound life , Tv show

I am disgusted with the families of the morbidly obese that are bed ridden,
Why do they keep giving them excess amounts of food that's horrible. When you love someone you should not enable them!
That's horrible

There’s a lot of misunderstandings around food, especially in some cultures. Cooking for loved ones is a way of expressing love. My family enjoys my cooking, but when I became diabetic I changed the way I cook to not exacerbate that condition. Most of the family respects that and still eat my food, which is healthier for them as well. It’s still tasty, just less sugar, salt, fewer carbs.

But my youngest sister, and her daughter, will go out and get McDonald’s when I’ve cooked. My sister has actually said, "we’re not diabetic—we shouldn’t have to be punished."
I gently reminded her that I wasn’t always diabetic, either. 😳

But there’s nothing to be said. I once showed my niece how I have to test my blood several times a day, and a friend of mine showed her how he has to inject insulin. None of which is fun. She was respectful, but once she got back home, I dunno… 🙁

@bijouxbroussard aww diabetic cooking is interesting and healthy, not punishment. Yes theres less carbs but it can still be satisfying. Type 2?
@Coralmist Yes. It’s actually been fun trying new recipes and adapting old ones to a healthier way of eating.
@bijouxbroussard I'm sorry your sister is being stubborn, This is in her genetics, it should be avoided at all cost. I hope your neice is careful because sometimes it can skip a generation.
@bijouxbroussard I learned something new about diabetes today,
I had no idea fried foods cause diabetes 🤨
I thought it was about cutting down on sweets, but there are other factors. Wow I never associated oil and diabetes
@RadiantRuby Fried foods are not healthy for non-diabetics, either. But anything that causes one’s blood sugar to be unstable is problematic.
