Parents affect on life

Should there be a test to see whether a person can be a parent or have to give their child up for adoption? What would be required?
SW-User
Sometimes, a child makes the world of difference in a person's life. People have made big changes because of a child.

Should there be a test to see who decides all these life changing things??
Who you are today is not necessarily who you'll be tomorrow.

Once you see a parent or both parents aren't doing anything to make a better life, then go do your judging

A totalitarian state.

I think it be more useful to have psychological evaluations, health screenings, and child development/ parenting/ general knowledge testing then, based on the results, requirements to participate in whatever services would assist with those deficiencies, as well as connecting them to a network of other parents.

I think in many cases there should be some sort of test

In a perfect Nazi world, I suppose, yes.

I am afraid it would not be possible, never mind desirable, in any other than perhaps crude assessments of ability to support a family in decent living conditions.
Yes, I believe that every parent should undergo a psychological evaluation for a period of two to three days, as certain people should not have children.
Who would set the test. One person or a committee? Should we all have a vote? Who should get a vote? Who is qualified to vote. Let us have a committee to decide.

I’m not a fan of the idea, but if it existed, would have to be about love and responsibility
Maybe just make parenting classes mandatory for new parents. See how that works out first.
SHOULD is not a real word but it should be

No. The suggestion is absurd.

You recall the Salem witch trials? Same energy.

You recall the Holocaust?
Same energy.

You recall slavery and endentured servitude?
Same energy.

"You are unfit to vote"
"You are unfit to be in society"
"You are unfit to be a parent"

Why not provide parenting classes and develop a society of parents with proper parenting skills instead?
I think new parents should be given more support and not left to their own devices to find it.
