In a quest for balance

I see how i love it all yin. But how do I bring about some yang activities? I am finding myself rejecting anything that requires serious amount of effort. For example i object to going to a challenging yoga class, while I am happy to go to a dancing sort of class. But is what I feel comfortable with doing, the best criteria to make choices? Should I push myself or not?

I know that's something personal that's different for each, but what's your take?

I think the answer is within whatever your goals are subjectively. Some things I just enjoy doing and don’t feel it necessary to push myself, though I do periodically test out something new to keep life colorful. However, in other areas of my life I push myself because I want/need to improve in those areas.

Ex: covid hasn’t been super inspirational for me, but under normal circumstances I would an artist-ish. I don’t plan to do it professionally with it. My art is just for me, so I don’t feel the itch to practice, practice, practice different techniques or take courses to advance. I do however periodically do experimental pieces or play with new mediums. I rotate between a few different mediums when one starts to feel stale etc.

Now, when it comes to my core values in application, The values I am making a daily effort to live out, like being a good mom or helping people, I’m constantly reviewing my approach, challenging myself to learn more and do better.
