Morals are an acquirement - like music, like a foreign language, like piety... -no man is born with them. "Mark Twain"

Do you agree with this? And why?
Spitbak · 56-60, M
😟I believe we are born with them but must learn to enhance them as we grow! Life is a learning process! As far as already having some sense of morality, I would say it's like a child who kills a bird for the first time and realized what he/she had done and feels the guilt of the action performed...the conscience reacts to the action! This, in my mind is what defines who we will be moralistically whether we act upon our moral self or throw it all out and ignore our duty as human beings! Hence is how true psychos are created! No conscience and no emotion! So, I somewhat agree with Twain!

No. I can see what the quote is meant to say, but even as a very young child without anyone teaching me morals, I knew certain things were just wrong.

I suppose I do agree. Morals need to be downloaded.

😟That's right Neo, swallow the red pill please! The Matrix is awaiting us!

@Spitbak: lol😂
I neither agree nor disagree because no one knows. In my opinion he's seeing it from more of a primal sense, that we as a species run on our basic functions like any animal. However morals can be taught or installed through upbringing. It sounds like a theory

thank you

You only have to look at the trends in morals as a function of time and location to see this is true.

I will tell you tomorrow
