sis' mic isn't working
I can't figure it out from here someone give me an idea, her computer isn't registering mics being plugged in

Is it a USB or a 3.5mm jack plug?
If it's the USB thing try using different ports or a different plug, and if it's the 3.5mm jack look in the device manager for Input Devices.
If it's not there at all try the mic at another PC and if it doesn't work there it's prolly broken.

it's probably both, 3.5 and then usb for power. It's mot there at all we tried two different ones the computer just doesn't seem to Register that they're plugged in

That sounds like the mic itself is broken.
You could look online for the drivers of the mic, install them and try again though. But I kinda doubt that'll work.
