Does crying feel "alien" to you?

Over the years, my eyes have learned to "swallow" the tears. So when I let them flow instead, everything feels really weird to me.

I get physically sick, as If I have a cold or allergy and the sensations last till the next day.

I rarely ever allow myself to cry. Maybe that's why.

Among many reasons, I've been faraway from my family, especially mom, due to work circumstances.

I guess this is what hitting me the hardest, even as a grown-äss 32 year old.

@BluntSm0ker He had a hard time controlling his mouth, too. It's a beautiful song anyway.
I hardly ever cry these days but when I do I do feel like I have a cold afterwards lol I thought it was just me 🙄

I think I don't cry but if it happens it's coz I'm really struggling and feeling helpless. Though the 'tear' part it is momentary.

It does feel alien to me because I was not allowed to cry as a kid. My mother forbade it

I cry more with age. It catches me by surprise.

It's the opposite for me. @Harmonium1923
I hate how I feel after crying too. I hope you are feeling better today.

Yup. Getting red/puffy in the face is the only thing that comes with crying, nothing positive, so I avoid it.

It's exhausting. @deadgerbil

@SW-User Same here. More or less. Eventually, one is bound to break down.

@SW-User Sometimes, facing your fears is the only way to overcome them. Though, I know, that's easier said than done. I wish you all the best.
No. It’s more normal than not crying.

I think it should be reserved for when your soul is really tired. @Pinkstarburst
@SW-User My soul is always exhausted. Has been for a long time.

Yeah unless someone dies I don't cry. On very rare occasions, when I see someone being a genuinely beautiful person and they are help other people with acts of kindness, I tear up a little bit. it gives me hope in humanity

Tearing up is fine. It shows that you have feelings, after all. It is also gentle on the body, health-wise. @empanadas
