did they throw away the meal you bought them??
are they your neighbor spending their collection at moose lodge bingo??
did they drive a cadillac and park it across the highway from their spot??

My dad has once, actually. The guy accepted and helped him on a short term project. He used dad as a reference and eventually found work.

I've bought a lot of food for homeless people and most accepted gladly.
