I'm proud to have helped to elect the first woman governor of NJ (Whitman). I liked what she had to say, so I wasn't voting gender.
In no way do I think a woman cannot be President; I just don't think the most suitable candidate has emerged yet.

@bijouxbroussard do you support her?
LeopoldBloom · M
@Claire2k Hillary Clinton was elected by popular vote, so if it weren’t for the Electoral College, she would have won.
Elizabeth Warren doesn’t have enough support within her own party to even be nominated, but she was my first choice.

@uyrex I certainly voted for her over Trump. But I accept the fact that her career in politics (other than perhaps locally) is likely over.

If it weren’t for our idiotic electoral system, we would have had a woman president in 2016.

Kamala Harris.

Megan Markle?

Can’t imagine. Our country is still much too anti-woman for it to be anytime soon. We only have a woman VP because she was elected with the candidate who saved our country from Trump.

@SubstantialKick I doubt it, although they might allow them to be among the candidates (similar to the way they’ve had black candidates with no intention of actually electing a black president).

@SubstantialKick They'll never candidate any of them. Melania afaik wasn't even born in the U.S., but I guess in Slovenia.
bijouxbroussard · F
@Elessar Good point. She’s not eligible to run.
