So the police found the dead body of a headless 2 year old in the lagoon recently. Sometimes I wonder if Chicago is even a real place.

Decapitating babies and throwing them into bodies of water. It's like the lyrics to a Misfits song, but on crack.

That trial just started. It was like a year before they charged that guy even though he was the main suspect all along. Really bad scene. Hard to think about.
Not sure you can lump all of Chicago in to this one act though. Killing a 2 year old sort of transcends location. It could happen anywhere.

Oh yeah I know, it's just that Chicago has a stereotype for lots of murders, even in the 5 years I've lived here.

@BlueMetalChick: Yeah. It does. It's getting most of the attention. Deservedly so. Something needs to change.
I'm in L.A. We were getting twice as many murders a year in the early 90's. That stretch culminated with the riot. Hope that doesn't happen there. But it wouldn't surprise me.

@Ynotisay: Los Angeles...I know east LA is still pretty fucked up.

@BlueMetalChick: Yep. The LA Times has a homicide page and Latino males from East L.A. are overwhelmingly represented. Bad scene. And the real fucked up thing is that it's multi-generational. Stupid.

@Ynotisay: I had a (very) brief involvement in acting for a small period of time in my life and I was in LA often. I quite liked West LA. I used to stay at the same Best Western all the time and I hung out in this lumber yard called Anawalt Lumber all the time for whatever reason. I have no idea why I'm remember all this now lol

@BlueMetalChick: HA. I live pretty close to Anawalt. They get my business before Home Depot. Good vibe. Not a bad place to hang out at all. :)
