Why don't doctors live longer than the average human?

I should think the first half of their careers is spent worrying about the total debt they've accrued just in getting qualified !

They work longer hours, in a more stressful environment, they probably drink too much coffee, they are only human too, so aren't immune to diseases, cancers etc

They are on vacation about 25 weeks a year. They can't be over worked. Evenings and weekends off, cush working conditions, they are their own boss... Talk about having the world by the short hairs.

If you want to test that theory about their 25 weeks worth of vacation, call 10 doctors office like you want to set up an appointment and 1/2 of the time, "Oh he/she is on vacation this week..."

In the cases when they are not on vacation, just say, "Oh hey can I call back in a minute?" then hang up.

Their whole career from beginning to end is highly stressful

Anyone can die from anything

I have dated two doctors and I will never look at them and their stressload the same way again. It has to be the most stressful profession ever

Why aren't therapists happier than the average patient?

They don't follow the life style they recommend - I met one Doctor who told be he didn't eat breakfast cereals.

The same reason a painters house is the worst looking on the block, and the mechanic's car runs the worst. No one wants to work all day then come home and work also lol

I have noticed all the Drs I have every seen they are all ideal weight.

They have to deal with the rest of us
