Would you be offended if you were invited to a restaurant

@Zeusdelight ultimately, my fiance wanted to have a celebration dinner and his family was pushing us to do it. My fiance said ok fine but he didnt want to pay so to put in the invite its dutch. I felt terrible about that and after really thinking about it, I decided to pay for everyones meal myself.

@DarkSideoftheMoon Very generous of you, but, did that create any tension between you two?

@Zeusdelight actually no. He just wasnt familiar with those traditions because he hadn't been to an event since he was a child. His immediate family didnt seem to care if they had to pay either but I just felt guilty because they were mentioning bringing gifts so I decided to pick up the tab.

@DarkSideoftheMoon I think you did well. Have any familial differences occurred as you continued your relationship?

@Zeusdelight no his family is very laid back and friendly. Mine is unfortunately in a different country and because of covid they cant attend but were planning something their when we can
