Would you be offended if you were invited to a restaurant

That happened to me once. I was invited to dinner with my cousin and her family. I haven’t seen them for a while. The server came she said to the server “can you make two checks” I didn’t say anything. I was little broke at the time. So I ordered a salad and glass of Tea My cousin said “that’s all your eating” I said “I’m not that hungry” she said “get something else I’ll pay” I said “it’s ok I’m not hungry” she wasn’t happy rest of the night.
