Would you be offended if you were invited to a restaurant

@QueenandCrown is it a thing to do now? I was brought up that ur supposed to pay but if you knew in advance it was a everybody is going dutch thing would you still be offended?

@DarkSideoftheMoon Unfortunately yes. And the only reason I know this is because my children sometimes go to their friend's birthday dinners at a restaurant and are expected to pay. I was like What The..
Like you, I was raised that a good hostess takes cares of her guests. To be honest with you I never been invited to a celebratory occasion and was expected to take care of my food. Maybe a few years ago I would have been offended, but as I am progressing in age I'm learning to become more flexible. So in today's time, no I would not be offended and yes I will still go.

@QueenandCrown that makes me feel a bit better. It hurts me that we probably have to have people pay their own way but on the other hand, if we didnt do anything with the family they'd be hurt they werent part of the occasion and with covid, we cant have so many people in a home for a bbq or something. It's so tricky but I figured if they know before hand then they dont have to go if they dont want to. It's not a pricey place either. Just a curry house. £8 a plate
