Can you imagine what life must have been like in 1821?

I really can't. We read books, watch documentaries, and do research about the history and the past, but none of those can truly do justice.

I can't imagine no electricity and where were they as far as running water, lol?

@NotJamieM They did have running water back then, but they may have had more issues with it being safe to use.

@Rose0415 I might actually like it. I love hiking in the woods and honestly have always thought it would be cool to be living somewhere deserted with minimal resources, so being in the past is along those same lines, I guess.

@Rose0415 it would be fun, I'm ok with people but don't mind being away from most of them. Love to hike all day and come back to a place like that.

@NotJamieM I think the Greenstone Ridge Trail at Isle Royale National Park here in Michigan is probably my favorite.

@Rose0415 I don't know anything about that one but it SOUNDS like a really cool place. I've summitted some decent mountains, but my all time favorite was hiking 12 mike's into the Grand Canyon and back out
