Hey any of y'all know what bruises/wounds a hammer to the hand would leave?

My twin sister is having issues with some SFX makeup for a short film, and we realized we don't really know what a hammer to the hand would look like after...

How hard a hammer blow. Slight? Swollen with some very light greyish to greyish-green bruise coloration. Severe swollen with a purplish and blackish-violet coloration and possibly some vascular spider webbing. With all kinds of wonderful rosary reds and crustacean blues in between those.
