What would you think?

I owe my sitter money. I have forgotten a few times now and she keeps chasing me up. I asked for my key back the last time. She said she would give the key back when she got her money. Would you say this is rude and also illegal that she will refuse to hand it over? I know I also owe her money but I was surprised by this

you OWE her money. I'd keep your key too.🤷🏾‍♀️

I'm pretty sure the agreement was that he/she would get paid for their services...

@iamnikki It seems very passive aggressive to keep my key until she gets paid. Its not hers to keep. I am extremely busy and I know I should have paid her sooner but I am busier than she will ever realise
@Jenni855 She could always take you to small claims court. Then you would have to pay her for watching your kids AND her court fees.

@Jenni855 how does being busy have to do with not paying someone? Could you not have simply left her payment on the counter? You have to pay people if they performed a service.

@Jenni855 she realises how busy you are, because she's spending her time, currently unpaid, to watch your kids, allowing you to be that busy.

Show a little gratitude and give back whats own.

@Jenni855 wow thats such a fucking rude thing to say - busier than she will ever realise ,no matter how many shares you are taking care of or meetings you are holding ,you are not above her in this matter .She did her job ,now you pay her .
Just because she babysits and you do some kind of" way too above her"job ,doesnt mean you can insult her or deprive her of her rightful money
