I prefer the rural though I live in a small city with a lot of open area and a great view from the window

I've never lived urban, and when I lived rural in my 20s I found I missed having stores and dining establishments open 24/7 entirely too much.

Decided by 22 that I didn't want to be more than 20 mins from a Walmart type store [not that I ever shop there, but every once in a while life presents midnight craft hour emergencies, and a 90 min driving time round trip to the store sucks balls at any hour - far more when there's wildlife out and about in the pitch black].

I can recognize I'm far better at having food/houseware/cleaning/craft supplies stocked at my age, and even remote small villages/townships have better goods/services available than 20 yrs ago. I do love me some Amazon Prime Now deliveries which aren't yet available rurally.

Can I pick exurbs ... right on the borderlands where the farms and woods start? Close enough to the metro for convenience but far enough it's quiet with stars and a big wooded lot that buts up against public land?

Somewhere along the suburban-rural border, like where I live now. I'm close to civilization but get the perks of a rural environment.

In a perfect world I would have a place in the city and one far away from it.

I don’t even know the main differences 🤷‍♀️ i live in a very small country, and he choices are pretty much limited lol. But I did live my entire life in a major city and I liked it

Rural. I tried living in the city and hated it and a believe the stereotype that suburban people are lame.

Lived all my life in a rural and small town area. Don't think I could do the urban thing.
