Scientists are people and they're flawed. But science is fundamentally different from a dogmatic system.

It has it place of worship (universities) and its apostles (guys and gals in lab coats) and its evangelists (politicians who use science to control the populace) and its pastors (those who accept the proclamations of the apostles and try to control the populace). It even has its prophets (computers).
