Is this mean?

I've worked at my job for 9 months. I still have a coworker who incorrectly pronounces my name.

I told him " I really think you do this on purpose. I've been here 9 months. You should know my name."

He claims it's not on purpose but it's just not common and that he's never met anyone with my name.

I said " yes you have met someone with my name. You met me 9 months ago so you should know my name. I'll call you Cameron ( not his name) until you learn my name"

Is that mean?

I mean, if you TRULY cannot pronounce a person's name, then why keep butchering it? Why not just say hey girl, or a simple good morning?

Hmmm. Well...probably not something I would do, because I don't like confrontation, but it's not actually mean. Maybe he is murdering your name on purpose so you will talk to him...😉

@4meAndyou I don't like confrontation either but I'm sick of ALLOWING people to treat me however they want. I'm not tolerating it anymore. He's married ,unnactrative and in his 50s

@iamnikki Probably why I stuck it out for so long in an abusive marriage...😉...my early training to be a spineless doormat. Good for you, sticking up for yourself.

@4meAndyou that's horrible. What do you mean your early training was to be a doormat?

@iamnikki I had a physically abusive mother, who believed that only males were worthy, and trained me to be a servant. Mainly HER servant...but I had to schlep hors d'oeuvres and drinks to her friends, and to my own brother who was treated like a demi god when he arrived home for visits. I did NOT learn to be assertive...because that usually earned me a hard slap straight across the face.

@4meAndyou omg, no one deserves or should have to endure being treated that way. I think I would have gotten emancipated. When did you leave home?

@iamnikki The second it was legal. But I didn't realize I was marrying a perv to get out.
