yeah pretty much. the closer i get to getting everything i want, the more i realize it doesnt matter that much

In life its better to be brave. It's better to confront things and deal with them as and when they happen.
When you mull over things and over think you cause yourself more harm than good.
Its not about not giving a shit its about deal with things rationally.
Sometimes some situations will catch you off guard and that is OK.

I pick my battles and don’t sweat the small stuff.

Over the years, many.
And there are times when I find the need to revise them.

I've never concluded that caring less might make me better off.
I find that caring is the very thing that best nurtures my relationships and personal well being. It's [i]how[/i] we care that makes the crucial difference.

The current crisis is helping many of us to get their priorities straight, I think. Don't sweat the small stuff...

Only the conclusion I came up with is the less people "give a shit" the worse the world gets full of selfish self-aborbed assholes.

Yup. Quite some time ago.
I keep my heart for who deserves it now.
