If you came from nothing and return to nothing when you die why do you want to debate?

Atheists fail again to be logical.

Yes atheists argue that we came from nothing but I don't think that's the primary emphasis here. That's a side issue. They're arguing that you can't prove the existence of God. Hope this helps.

@DudeistPriest The point I am making is their need for arguments are silly if they actually believe what they say. The fact that they are compelled to assuage their conscience by arguing against something they don't want to believe in makes them appear as though they know they are wrong in the matter. If you come from nothing and return to nothing there is no need to argue since you have nothing to say since the effect of you saying it is more nothingness. It does not lift or inspire or create awe or love or joy or freedom. It is simply nothing. Look deep into the universe and observe the countless stars and it is nothing. It came from nothing it returns to nothing. See the beauty of a sunset and it is nothing. It came from nothing it returns to nothing. See a mother struggling to feed her baby. It means nothing. It came from nothing and returns to nothing. Nothing does not beget love or honor or joy or hope. It begets nothing. It is just matter doing matter kind of things for as long as the matter exists.

@DudeistPriest It is not a side issue! Logically the issue is not to prove God because that is self evident that he exists as he has given us that knowledge in our hearts, and the world, and the Bible, and the witnesses of our hanged lives! So this issue where we come from is paramount!

What does that have to do with atheism?

Exactly. It's got nothing to do with atheism. [/sarc]
@hippyjoe1955 @Carazaa
Both of you missed the point entirely. This is exactly why I'm reluctant to get into these dead-end arguments. People run off on and get lost in tangents. If you can't come to grips with the existence of God can't be proven (like weighed, measured, etc...) then alright, move on in life and don't needle people and try to make their lives miserable.

Now excuse me while I turn off my radio for speaking to God. It's a newer model with an equalizer to adjust His voice with treble and bass. You should get one, just tune it to the KGOD channel and He speaks to you directly. [/sarcasm]

@DudeistPriest I think you missed the point I continue to make. If you believe there is no God and that is your perfect right then there is no purpose for you debating the existence of God since by assuming that we are here by cosmic accident then our ideas don't matter a whit since they too are simply a cosmic accident. Nothing of import can come from them.
@hippyjoe1955 Go away, you're bothering me. I tried to help you, thanks alot.

We think differently, leave it at that.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@DudeistPriest If you can't see that simple fact maybe it is you that needs the help. Without a purpose there is no purpose in having any discussion as it is little more than misfiring neurons the result of accidental chemistry that that give us a sense of reality.

@hippyjoe1955
If you believe there is no God
1. there's no proof that gods exist (otherwise we'd all be theists)
2. there's no proof that gods don't exist (they might be lurking around a mountain-top somewhere)
3. in any event, there's no compelling necessity to even postulate gods, and the postulation explains nothing... it merely tries to explain everything away.
4. therefore, I have no gods

Where in there do I make the claim that there is no god?

Yet here I am... an agnostic atheist

I have no idea what it is about cosmology that you think requires postulations about gods.

@newjaninev2 Do I read the ramblings of misfiring neurons again? Have a nice flight to Saturn.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@hippyjoe1955 It would appear that you don’t read anything. You certainly seem unable to give meaningful and relevant responses to anything.

What’s the obsession with Saturn? Do you think that you live on Saturn, or that your god lives there, or that Saturnians control your thoughts?

No, seriously... what’s with your Saturn thing?

Share with the class...

@newjaninev2 You got no class. You are just a bunch of misfiring neurons the result of a cosmic accident of no consequence whatsoever. Have a nice interlude and an even nicer flame out.
