@JimminyChristmas Who or what was the "dig" at, do you think? This particular bill did pass twice before in the Senate, but was held up both times because it was blocked from coming to the floor by former House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte(R), who is no longer in Congress.

Unfortunately, what many, including me, consider cruel slaughter practices for animals people commonly like to eat, are not much addressed in the PACT Act. That would, I believe, include both halal and kashrut/kosher methods.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout We definitely do agree that animal cruelty is "bad". Atrocious, heart-sickening, and abhorrent too.

I'm glad to say I've not actually witnessed halal slaughter in real time, just read and seen enough details about it to know it would be disturbing to me to [i]see[/i] it. Would be for kosher slaughter also, and what goes on regularly every day...in [i]any[/i] slaughter house.
