Yes there are some evil people that really can not ever be released and are just languishing in jail at the expense of the tax payer.

@Travelbug Interestingly enough, the death penalty is actually more expensive for taxpayers than a life sentence because of the significantly longer and more expensive trials, as well as the multiple appeals that death row inmates make to the court

@Travelbug Yeah, but there's always the fear of condemning an innocent person to death. There's been multiple instances of technological advances exonerating previously convicted inmates
