How to do this?

Had a nanny for three years who has stuck by my family after husband and I split. Generous and kind to my son who is 8.
She took an afternoon off work and I had to find alternative care for my son, I put him in an out of school club and he loved it and wants to keep going back. This then means my nanny is out of a job. How can I say this to her?

Well... is it a one day a week club or every day? Is it a summer thing? School is almost over.

Is she a nanny on a contract?

@Starcrossed We have used this nanny two afternoons a week for 3 years, not just the summer. Use her through the school holidays too occasionally.

@Jenni855 well, 2 of 5 days doesn't sound like a super steady job. I'd just be honest, she'll understand his need to grow and socialize with peers if she is a good nanny.

Maybe once school is out and the club ends she'll be free. If not, maybe its time to explore other afterschool/out of school clubs/camps for him. Our local YMCA has a really affordable awesome summer program we've sent my now 8 yr old every summer a few days a week for like 3 years now. She loves it.

@Starcrossed She works another job alongside it and has been with us a while. She truly loves my son so it will come as a shock but its what my son wants

Good people are hard to find be careful.

I guess she's just an employee then.

@GeniUs To me, yes. But I acknowledge she loves my child and has done a lot for him

Maybe a leaving gift...
