My daughter has to be insane!!!

I just answered the front door, there was a 41 lbs box from USPS - it had my daughter's name on it, I realized it was 41 lbs when i tried to lift it. I said, "honey, what did you buy that weighs 41 freakin pounds ?"
SHe then told me that she got a great deal on SALT!!!!!
SALT!!!!!!
40+ lbs (4 galons it says on the container) of SALT! ????
o.O ??
So, like any good mother I said.. WHY????
WHY 41 LBS of SALT ????
*sigh*
She told me "Mom it will be worth its weight in gold soon."
So I crossed my arms and said, would you please explain that to me, cuz right now the packing invoice says it was $35, so thats less than $1/pound -- she said... mom, when the economy collapses and the grid goes down ...
i put up my hand and said --- .... well I wont say it here...
*sigh*
She's been hanging out with this new boyfriend for 2 months, he's nice, but him and his family are always talking about survival stuff and I was like ok, so what part of feeling safe and dealing with your fears of an uncertain future, inspired you to spend $35 on 41 lbs of SALT!!! ???
Then she was like "mom, you don't understand!"
and I was like... "you got that right!"
She's in her room now.
and as many mothers have said throughout time --- YOU WAIT TIL YOUR FATHER GETS HOME!
Anyway, WT? ??????

@LilTiffy4ever oh boy! Well if you can't return the salt it would probably be a great thing to donate to food shelves
