@TheLordOfHell but letting them go without a fight would just leave you with a ton of what-if's. At least you can say you tried despite the outcome.

Would you rather do what's good for you and let dead weight out of your life or lower yourself to begging someone who does not want to be there to stay?

@TheLordOfHell that someone is more than a "dead weight" in my life that's why he is worth the effort. I never said I'll lower myself into begging someone to stay but trying to salvage relationships between people in our lives isn't as pathetic as others might think.

If they were anything to begin with, no salvage would be necessary. Do what you will. It is nothing to me
