Does violence beget violence?

This is a tricky question...In a lot of cases yes it does when the people involved are hellbent on revenge. However, it has also been shown that many an aggressor has been stopped in their tracks by it when their intended target fights back. It all comes down to good judgement and common sense when deciding what action is needed.
