Insults are free speech too ijs
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@NorthernBear I suppose it could be in the extreme although it's not really the acceptable norm.

@Wraithorn Actually, insults, have become the acceptable norm these days. Pretty much if you are doing wrong, just slam the other side harder publicly in an attempt at distracting them. It is even in our comedy. Insults are a form of entertainment.

@affinityterra I know that many politicians are doing that but that doesn't mean that it is the correct or educated/intelligent thing to do.

No it is not the "right" thing to do, but it is the accepted norm in our current society. Just take a look at any political forums anywhere online. Many practice their free speech through insults. Then take notice of how late night comedy uses comedic insults to sway popular opinion.

@affinityterra Fair enough. In my opinion that is the norm portrayed by the media and Hollywood. It's not the norm for the average man on the street. If it is the real norm for the majority of people on Earth then we are in deep trouble.

@Wraithorn We are becoming so wrapped up in the "issues" (and even creating them where there is none), that the actual problems are often overlooked and never dealt with. People love to make mountains out of molehills and complicate everything, and so it just becomes a big chaotic mess...so you're absolutely right.

@affinityterra It's terrible! 😟 People are calling each other dirty names in the name of friendship too?!
