Would you prefer to lose all the memories you have now or never be able to make any new memories?

Choosing neither is obvious. But let's say one it's being forced upon you, which would you choose?

Considering that my short-term memory has waned a bit, I seem to have retained my long-term memory but am less able to make new ones.
