At what age did you first think "Crap! I'm an adult now"?

I saw some teens and thought "Look at those idiots with their hair and their clothes, what kinda style is that??? It looks so stupid."

...and then I knew...I was officially old....

It actually never struck me with any force until my Dad's death when I was 38.

The years before seemed like playing dress-up.

When I was 17 actually ,on my way to my first duty station ,,,Miami here we come
Then we had car trouble ,,I had tools ,a quick repair and on the road again ,
But my wife was scared and crying ,she had never been to far from her Mom
And she said "Baby ,Please ,Lets go back home " I'm scared ,she was almost 19 .

I couldn't ,,I was either signed in at Base Miami beach at 7am the next morning
or I was AWOL

I had to rent us an apartment ,unload our things and report in

The nest day I was told I already had duty ,which meant when I come to work at 7am the next morning ,,I was not going to be back home again until around 4 the day after ..

It was hard ,,,my wife was fine as hell ,in a dangerous city
new home and people she didn't know ,(the lady we rented from was so sweet ,she set me at ease saying she would look out for her ,,but having to leave her and I just got home from boot camp 10 days before ,,

Were it just any job I may have quit ,,but I signed a 6 yr contract
they owned me ,,and no matter how scared either of us were
this is what we signed on for ,,no going back ,,,I am no longer seen as a kid

Well until 7 months later when I yelled over the PA
"United States Coast Guard ,,Skipper kill your engines and prepare to be boarded"
As soon as my feet hit the deck and I ask for documentations and ID I hear
"You have to be kidding me ,KId how old are you " ?,,
old enough to ruin your day if you do not comply and produce the things I am about to ask you for
I represent the United States of America ,,my age is not the issue

My 20s, I had 2 babies, a husband, etc.

Probably when I got my first apartment by myself and sat there in the quietness.

The first time I had to make my own doctors appointment.

I'm 19 and still haven't realized it. So I'll give it time :)

When I got married and then years later became a mom

When I moved in the age of 20 to another country.

When I was 17. I had a new car and a great job.

actually i never felt i was a child. when i was a kid i felt like an adult. i hated when people talked baby talk to me, hated having a babysitter, i knew i looked silly in a bikini. i really just wanted my body to grow into a woman because i always felt more mature than i was .
